tada!!!

My Breakfast at Tiffany's inspired bathtub couch is finished and now resides in the entry way of my new home. I had it painted in a perfect shade Tiffany & Co blue. I love it so much that I spend way too much time looking for decorative throw pillows to put on it. It still needs a cushion, more pillows and some lovely canvas pics hanging all around it but I'm posting a picture anyway...

 

And here is where the original idea came from, my most favorite movie Breakfast at Tiffany's.

 

Someday soon I will use my lovely couch for a fantastic photoshoot with my daughter or a bride or both, but it's REALLY heavy so I've got to find the perfect items/location first because I most likely won't be doing more than one shoot.

Much thanks to Tiffany Treu for giving me her old tub in exchange for a photoshoot and Rory Knotts for turning that old tub into the masterpiece couch that it is!

I think this may be the cutest thing I've ever, ever seen! The fact that it comes in my favorite color makes it even better! I want one for my family pictures (and of course yours too if you love it like I do). I'd also like to ride it every single day with my two kids in the back...

bath tub

Remember last year, when I offered a photo session in return for a claw foot bath tub so I could turn it into this...

It's a Breakfast at Tiffany's inspired couch, Holly has this tub in her apartment...

Well guess what! I did do a session in exchange for a tub and I just happen to have a friend who is brilliant with metal working, he just sent me this picture, with a practice cut and a white line to mark the real cut, for my approval. I wish I had taken a picture before this one because the tub was all rusty and my friend sand blasted it and welded the feet on because they kept falling off. It looks so good now! I've just got to figure out what color to paint the outside...a Tiffany's box blue hue I think, with either silver or gold feet. Silver or gold or maybe bronze? What do you thinK?

This means that very soon I will have a new prop (a very heavy new prop) for kids, teenagers & my own family session for my Christmas cards and maybe there are others like me who love Breakfast at Tiffany's and want a themed photo shoot. I also have an orange cat :)

Reasons why it should be mine:

Breakfast at Tiffany's is my most favorite movie.

A person who takes 2 to 3 baths daily should have a bath tub couch.

I could use it to take fabulous pictures.

And the only reason why it can't be mine is because it costs 2400 pounds not including international shipping which is way more american dollars than       I can afford.

 So sad for me!

So I'm just putting it out there into the universe, if anyone has a claw foot bath tub laying around (in whatever condition, it obviously doesn't need to be able to hold water) that I can make into a couch, I would not only love you forever but I'd work out an absolutely sweet deal on pictures for you...

(sweet meaning free with a disc and copyright release)

 (And don't forget about me loving you forever, I really would!)

P.S. How would one go about cutting a tub in half? Welding? Are you picturing me with welding glasses on? Me too! But that scenario can only end in an emergency room visit, like the time I decided to make my own frames and cut the end of my index finger off...I sorta miss having a fingerprint.
