This is a post I created for a Mommy blog I recently joined, it's too funny not to share...
Since I was old enough to understand what germs were I have hated public restrooms. I avoid them whenever possible, unfortunately when you have young children they are a necessary evil. Yesterday we were out to lunch and before we even got our food my 4 year old son announced, "I have to go poop!" loud enough for the whole place to hear. Faces were smiling and chuckling everywhere I looked as I glanced quickly around the restaurant judging it's level of cleanliness. I hoped the bathroom would be as clean. It was. I breathed a sigh of relief when I turned on the light. I picked him up and sat him on the potty because it was one of those extra tall toilets that you often find in public restrooms and he started to do his business. I was standing near him examining the soap dispenser, it had dirty fingerprints on it, when he said "Uh Oh". Never a good thing to hear a child say in a bathroom. I looked at him and he had a frozen expression of horror on his cute little face and some moisture dripping down his nose. "Oops Mom, I peed on my face." He said somberly. "What!?!" I yelped so loudly that the people outside the door probably heard me. In his cute little oh so innocent voice he explained, "I was just wookin' (looking) at my pee comin' out and I peed on my face." Maybe it was his expression or his cuteness or the fact that "Oops Mom, I peed on my face." sounded so completely hilarious but I started to laugh and so did he. I grabbed some paper towels and with some soap and water cleaned his face. I made a mental note to myself to always let him stand up to pee before I sit him down!
And I can't post without a picture, so I'm leaving you with an image I recently took of my little guy in the tub. That way you can visualize him clean & without pee on his face!
After a nearly 5 year endeavor owning a skate/snowboard shop, my husband Ryan decided that it just wasn't making enough money to support our little family so he became a State Farm Agent on May 1st. He needed some pictures of his office & staff for a conference he's going to, so I obliged (sometimes my skills come in handy)...
